Backing Up A Company File

There are many ways to get your company file to Accu-Service for review.  Webex, LogMeIn, Remote Access, Remote Assistant, pcANYWHERE, GoToMyPC, FTP site, etc.  Please contact us to find which method works best for you.

HOW TO BACKUP YOUR QuickBooks® FILE FOR EMAIL TRANSFER

1. Open up QuickBooks® from your desktop. Select your company file from File:Open Company (if it was not left open from the last session).

2. Go to File:Backup on the QuickBooks® taskbar.

3. Once the Backup Window is open, verify that it is pointing to your desktop. This is found at the top of the backup box. You can select which drive you want to backup to by clicking on the arrow down next to the words Save In at the top of the box.

4. Your company file name should appear on the bottom of the backup screen.  Save As Type field at the bottom of the backup screen should read "QBW Backup (*.QBB).

5. Click OK.

6. A dialog box will appear which asks you "Are you sure you want to back up your company data on your hard disk?" Say yes to continue backing up.

7. Upon completion, QuickBooks® will tell you that it backed up successfully!

8. Click here to send a new email message: Accu-Service

9. Enter the subject "QuickBooks® Backup File - Please review!"

10. Enter detailed information in the message area of the email which describes what information Accu-Service needs to review, pertinent questions or concerns you may have, etc.

11. Click on the attach button which may look like a paper clip icon.

12. The Attachment window will open and show you the desktop as one of the areas available. Double-click on that folder.  Once you find that file, double-click on your company file backup.

13. This action will put you back into the email screen. You will notice an icon that is showing on the email. Please make sure that it says "yourcompanyname.QBB". This is critical! This means that you are sending a compressed backup file format instead of the working file which is much larger.

14. Click send
